Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, variety of connections
"Connectivity ports for all the sources of music that I can think of, connection and use is very easy. Set up is simple and the instruction manual provides the great majority of requirements. At the other end of the scale to some previous reviews, our unit has been installed in a sailing club house and, despite its relatively small wattage rating, the unit is still capable of filling the club with good quality sound. Like other reviews failing to get DAB signal unless installed in perfect situation."

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, good clear dab radio
Cons: noisy fan
"Very good replacement for a similar FM model for use in the kitchen. The DAB section found around 20 radio stations without any trouble and storing favourites was easy after reading the small manual, however only a few FM stations could be found and then saved. As yet we haven't an iPod but the memory stick containing music files worked satisfactorily. Aux socket very useful as it provides sound for a nearby 7 inch TV screen.
Only drawback is the sound of the internal fan of which there is no mention in the handbook. Hitachi's website makes no reference to any of their audio equipment - so no help there. Is there a secret way via the remote control to adjust the fan speed or switch it off?"

Cons: fiddley i-pod adaptors
"I bought this Hi-fi system for use in a kitchen where space was a premium but I wanted good quality stereo sound. Having taken time to select the Hitachi I was not certain that the sound would be good enough.
The set was easy to connect and after reading the set up guide it was fully operational within 15 minutes. Sound quality was good and all sections worked well. The only fiddley bit was trying to use the I-Pod adaptors as instructed. In the end I used the I-pod player without an adaptor and it works perfectly. DAB signal reception and playback was also excellent.
All in all a very useful and value for money system which is ideal for a small room."

"Very pleased with the HiFi, it looks nice, sounds good and is easy to use.And my iPod looks great on it..
Only down side is that the DAB radio areal isn't that good, and i could only get one DAB channel,"

Cons: no dab radio. (as advertised)
"I bought this product solely because it had DAB radio. It has great sound in FM, CD, SD card etc. However, the DAB antenna is only a thin wire and I cannot receive DAB radio transmissions. This is not due to the area, as I can receive all Digital channels on my TV. I am disappointed and will purchase another, better product with a genuine DAB connection. Probably from another outlet."
