Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use and record on, excellent reception
"This is the first digital recorder that I have purchased. Up till now I have used an early "digi-box" which whilst reliable for a number of years gave intermittent colour reproduction on some channels. I have always thought this was weak signal.
I have had the HUMAX PVR915 for just one month and am delighted. Excellent reception and no loss of colour on any channel. Easy to use and to record. None of the defects so far that have been reported by others.

Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: unintuitive
"The user interface for choosing programs to watch and record is very unintuitive compared to other recorders I have used - for example if you are not careful you can press Ok to choose a channel but end up setting a program to record because you had a future program highlighted.
We also found that the picture and sound skipped a bit on certain channels. This may be because we don't have a 100% strong signal, but we did not have this problem when we plugged in my neighbours PVR.
However, it is a very good price, and once you get used to the interface it is good value for money.

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, reliable customer service & delivery from laskys, twin tuner, great to use when working.
Cons: can be unreliable., manufacturer disinterest.
"The 9150T is value for money especially for a twin-tuner but I am on to my third one.
First one had to be switched off every night or it would be frozen in the morning. Second one would not respond after being left for 10 days, I was unable to reset following Humax instructions as menu would not display. Told Humax but they just sent me exactly the same instructions! Asked why by e-mail but they didn't reply.
The PVRs have been exchanged by Laskys without hesitation and they have alleviated my fear of buying online. Customer service, delivery & collection all very efficient. Think Laskys could definitely teach Humax a thing or two about customer relations!
Current PVR, received mid-June, o.k. so far. Occasional stutter but this could be transmittor changes as our area prepares to go digital."

"Have had this recorder for about a month,it was very easy to set up also it seems very easy to use.have not had it long enough to use all the fetures as yet,but will get there.
I have heard complaints about the noise that the hard drive make,it does not seem to be a problem to me,if there is any down side it is the fact that it ocasionallyfreezes up for a few seconds then seems to right its self, and thats the only complaint that I can find as yet
Very impressed with the unit for the price.

"Very easy to use, but I find that it is very slow to activate and as this is the second unit I have had, the first one was so slow it came to a stop and would not do anything I asked of it. The unit was replaced under guarantee but I find the new one better although I had to switch off and switch back on again as it stopped working at one point, I am a little dissapointed and I hope that this one does not jam again. After reading the great reviews, I am wondering if other people have had the same problem?"

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact
Cons: noisy
"I love the features and will use it all the time.
The only problem is that the box itself is a bit noisy which is fine under normal conditions but when you want the tv volume low you can hear the box buzzing."

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact
"From reading "Which" reviews we were in no doubt about the quality of this product. Needless to say without even reading the manual the unit is a neat piece of equipment, easy set-up, ease of use, good picture quality & we don’t notice the fan noise. We had a Panasonic DVD disc unit before and this knocks the spots off it, especially as it has a hard drive and not a disc unit, so no more changing discs when they are full. The ability to record a programme series or just one programme is handy. Also with twin tuners, allows you two record two separate channels at the same time, whilst still watching what you have already recorded. Overall very impressed for the price."

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, easy to use
Cons: no printed manual
"Pros: Arrived on time and was very easy to set up. I had read bad reports about the progress. I have only had the product a month so have only used the most popular features, there are many more to explore. I particularly like the live pause, good for the loo and coffee making.Probably one dependant on the other. I think the size of hard drive is big enough for my needs. A good buy
Cons. I was surprised that the manual had to be down loaded (saves trees I suppose). A bit of a niggle about the EPG . Easy to set up BUT, the programmes often start before the recording but to be fair I suspect this is down to the programme makers rathe than the PVR.

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, easy to use
Cons: the manual has to be downloaded
"The PVR arrived and was very easy to set up even for an old lady!!As I bought it at the digital change over there was a problem in getting the BBC programmes on the right chanels but I received a quick answer from Humax to my e-mail and the problem was solved by the 16 stages suggested. The software needs updating to cope with the sheer volume of information coming in but otherwise I am delighted with it. It performs much better than more expensive ones I have seen."

Happy

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Durable
"This would have been a best buy if the HD was larger. Perfect for me though, so glad I bought it. Very easy to install and use. Have bought 2 more for the family who are also very happy. Loads of features rarely used such as Picture in Picture slow motion editing etc etc. Just started to use the commercial skip button which basically fasts forward or reverse for a fixed time such as 15, 30 45 seconds so a couple of clicks and the commercial are over.
Occasionally have to turn off from the wall to reset if picture freezes which resolves the problem. Had the product 8 months and would recommend it.

Excellent buy

Pros: Compact, Durable, excellent reception
"The Humax PVR 9150 is a solid and well built piece of kit. After reading various reviews we decided on the Humax as it appeared to cope well in weak signal areas. We have not been disappointed, it is easy to set up and use straight out of the box. We are actually using it in a static caravan and are receiving channels that others surrounding us do not, although we appreciate this could be down to aerial and other considerations. Would have no hesitation in recommending the Humax having been pleased with its performance. There are lower priced PVRs available and we bought one for our daughter’s bedroom, however the Humax is worth the extra and has not let us down."

Humax PVR9150T

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Durable, excellent build quality
"The Humax PVR9150T is a steal at this price. It looks good, does what it says and is very easy to use. The 160GB hard drive allows more recording than you will need. 100 hours is a lot of tele. The picture quality on our quite old television is improved hugely by the Humax and the recording picture quality is excellent. For those with Freeview, the Humax is a nifty, intelligent and inconspicuous piece of kit. Worth every penny. Thoroughly recommended."
